The Nikon AF-P DX Nikkor 55-300mm F4.5-6.3G ED VR is an inexpensive tele-zoom lens for crop-sensor cameras. Equivalent to 105-450mm when attached to a camera with an APS-C sensor, this lens features 14 elements, one of which is extra-low dispersion. The AF-P designation means that it uses a stepping motor for fast and quiet autofocus. The lens also gains up to four stops of shake reduction courtesy of its “VR” image stabilization system.

VR (Vibration Reduction) image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by four stops to benefit shooting handheld in difficult lighting conditions.
Rounded seven-blade diaphragm promotes a pleasing out of focus quality that benefits the use of shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques.
Autofocus and VR switches have been removed from the lens design for a sleek profile; these operations are now accessible in compatible cameras’ menu systems.
